Who am I?

As a former competitive swimmer and recreational equestrian, my passion for participating in sports led me to undertake my sport and exercise science degree. I am now a third year student at Newcastle University and am hoping to get work experience for next year before applying for a Masters degree programme the following year.

My love for sports extends far beyond my participation. From the raucous Davis Cup tennis to the electrifying atmosphere of St James’ Park, I’ve had the privilege of attending some incredible events, each one adding to my interest in sports performance. I’m always on the lookout to expand my horizons and enjoy exploring new sports. I was lucky enough to attend an Aussie Rules match at the MCG in Melbourne and the athletics at the Olympic Games in Paris this summer.

Through my love of sports and the knowledge I gain from my degree, I have a growing interest in health and well-being in both the general population and sports performers, as well as the varying roles data and its analysis can play in supporting performance. One way I am currently exploring these interests is through my dissertation, which looks at the effectiveness of a football intervention for obese populations to encourage dietary and lifestyle changes to support their health and well-being.
